The words of the Sayyed of the Resistance were clear, it is an invitation to the Palestinian Resistance to resume the path of the Resistance and not to turn to hopeless Arab systems that failed in every respect regarding the cause. We don’t know if HAMAS will respond to what sounded like the last call sent to HAMAS from Sayyed to go back to its original position of fighting the enemy without betting on anything else that has proved ineffective.
Sayyed’s call was very mild and inviting but are the ears of the leaders of HAMAS still tuned to this kind of talk? Very unlikely, especially after HAMAS has fallen in the pit of sectarianism carefully prepared by the world order through Turkey and Egypt to make HAMAS slip to no return and relinquish the path of Resistance for that of reconciliation with the Palestinian authority and negotiations with Israel.
The Palestinian Resistance that started with Arafat and his companions has aged –no doubt-without achieving any its goals except for the independence of the narrow district of Gaza and the district that resisted invasion and could defend itself thanks to the Syrian weapons sent to it by the Syrian regime is now witnessing daily demonstrations that support the Syrian opposition. But despite the daily anti Syrian demonstration the living conditions in Gaza have not improved, the border with Rafah has not opened and the electricity is not back yet and things are pretty much the same four years after the Israeli assault. The district is still being daily shelled.
Why this giving up on the cause on behalf of the faction that was supposed to keep the fire burning and the cause alive? What is this that has happened to HAMAS and when did it start? The story of the Palestinian Resistance -despite significant sacrifices-is the story of the multiple failures that the liberation movement endured. These failures are maybe due to the fact that liberation- in the proper sense of the word-stopped at a certain time from being on the agenda of the FATEH movement, it was replaced by something else and the mere preservation of the Palestinian identity became-unfortunately -the sole goal, an identity without land.
Very few had a real vision of what liberation meant and implied; and how it was not limited to a certain locality and to a certain national identity but had a universal dimension. Liberation is certainly not restricted to the Palestine of Sykes/Picot but addresses all Arabs and particularly the human in the Arabs. This absence of clarity in addition to the money poured from Saudi Arabia to FATEH that participated greatly in corrupting the movement till corruption reached an unimaginable level where members started collaborating with MOSSAD and CIA against their own people. HAMAS came later to change the course of things and restitute the armed Resistance as a priority.
HAMAS carried the banner well, coordinated with Hizbullah and Iran and succeeded in rallying the Arab and Muslim masses and rekindled the cause that was on the verge of being wasted by negotiations and agreements signed with the enemy. But this did not last and, when the Arab springs came, HAMAS turned against its own self and lost the Palestinian cause to Syria al Assad where the battle of Palestine is being fought right now, proving the fact that the cause cannot be confined to a sect nor restricted to a religion and, any attempt at confining it is bound to fail. Had HAMAS taken a pro Syrian stand the same way Syria took a pro HAMAS stand when it supplied the district with weapons, things would have turned out differently and events would not have escalated the way they did. But HAMAS chose the sectarian alignment instead, relinquishing the essential cause for what seems to be a promise of sharing in the rule of neighboring Arab countries.
This is what HAMAS had to settle with: a share in a Sunni rule or regime in Syria in the absence of any prospect right now for Palestinians .One has to admit the fact that if there is no return to Palestine –according to the US/Israeli agenda – Palestinians would have then to be absorbed in their hosting countries where they will be given a share in the rule against relinquishing their cause. This is the spring promised to Palestinians on the remains of Syria as arranged by the world order and Israel.
By not supporting their major ally who hosted them for years and supplied them with weapons and protected their leaders and their independence , Palestinians are burying their cause with their own hands. The cause –of course will not die– it will simply change hands and go to those who qualify for it. It will not suffocate in sectarianism nor in fanaticism , all the Arab bosoms and all bosoms of committed people will be open for it. It will find its right place and resume its own path…Palestinians should know that Israel has already been defeated and the way to defeat it is clear, accessible and feasible, the choice is still there. What would Palestinians choose?

“Any stocks of chemical weapons that may exist, will never, ever be used against the Syrian people,” he said, adding that in the event of foreign attack, “the generals will be deciding when and how we use them.”

I happened 1n 1948 when Palestine was divided between the Zionist entity and Jordan. Jordan granted Palestinians citizen’s status,
“It may be just a bone thrown out in the hope it will give the Egyptian MB a good image.” Who_me
Exactly, it’s just a bone thrown to save Hamas face, and cover the dirt deal and MB treachery
But, I would assure both of you, being the central cause of Arabs, Palestinian cause shall never die.
In 1958 (the peak of Arab nationalist movement) Arafat (The son of a Moroccan Jewish family who embraced Islam in 1928) formed in Kuwait with Petro Dollar. His mission was nothing but closing the Palestinian file.

A week ago, Khalid Amayreh moaned Hani Al-Hassan as a Fateh leader who stood against Oslo, Amayreh and ignored Hani’s famous lecture in London where he claimed that Arafat met Nasser in 1968 and got a green light from to reach a settlement with the Zionist entity.
Hani wanted to hang Fateh treachery on Nasser hook. He claimed that since that meeting with Nasser, Fateh leadership close to Arafat started preparing Palestinians to accept peace with Israel.
Reading in between the lines of Hani’s lecture, you conclude that Black September, Tel-azaater , invasion of Lebanon, Sabra and Shateela massacres and later the Nakba of Palestinians living in Kuwait, are designed to force Palestinians give-up their rights.
Arafat left Beirut crying (Ya Wahdana) O’ we are alone, ignoring that it’s him and his Fateh who pushed Nasser to 1967 trap.
I still remember Hani Al-Hassan,after shooting the first bullet in 1965, preaching us about long people’s war, challenging Israel to occupy Cairo Damascus and Beirut and Amman. And later I remember them calling for the so-called Independent Palestinian decision (Independent from Nasser and later independent from Assad).
In late 1970’s and early 1980’s, while Hafez Assad was fighting to prevent settlement of Palestinian refugee in Lebanon and the planned Christian Israel in Lebanon, Arafat was sending arms to Syrian brothers, and negociating peace with Perez via his linkman (Alan Hart).

Phase 1: “Revolution” until “Victory” of Israel (1958-1967)
Phase 2: Ya wahdana (We are alone) -Oslo (Peace conspiracy) (1967- 2004)
Phase 3: Resistance is the Enemy. (2004 – ——)
Phase 4: P A is pregnant; is awaiting child “Ecconomical Peace” – Liquidation
With the so called “Arab spring” we entered a new phase
Phase 5: Hamas is pregnant awaiting…..What??

the PLO and especially the FATEH who stayed in Lebanon many years got involved in Lebanese local conflicts , they got immersed in it and this is among the things that caused their ousting . Their intention was definitely not to liberate Palestine , their presence in the south was unwanted but they could impose themselves on the population but to no avail they were not serious in their endeavor of liberation , This was very visible , they were not focusing on liberation as they were focusing on how to use local conflicts to their benefit , all the leaders who believed in armed struggle were liquidated very early the others also who were not rushing into peace talks were liquidated as well one after the other , remained Arafat to lead the boat to complete surrender.

A very clear-eyed summary, Daniel. The despair and confusion of the Lebanon days for the Palestinian refugees comes through in Darwish’s poems and prose.

“Palestinians are already being targeted. 300 Palestinian deaths have been reported in Syria since the conflict began. The PA says it is in contact with Syrian authorities to ensure the safety of the large refugee population. Many of the killings are reportedly taking place in Yarmouk. Arab media opposing the government of Syria’s Bashar Assad are blaming Syrian security forces for the targeting of Palestinians. But other media are telling a different story.
“In the worst incident, 16 members of the Palestine Liberation Army, which is backed by the Syrian authorities, were killed after gunmen stopped their bus and kidnapped them,” reported Khaled Abu Toumeh in the Jerusalem Post on July 20. “The bodies of the Palestinians, whose throats had been slashed, were later discovered in an open field in the suburbs of Damascus.”
A statement issued on July 16 by the Free Syria Army joint command, and cited by AFP, called “pro-regime Palestinian leaders on Syrian soil…‘legitimate targets.’” Considering that cooperation between various PLO factions and Syria goes back decades, the call resembles a death note to numerous Palestinians in Syria. The Palestine Liberation Army, for once, has more or less served a symbolic role. It was barely involved in any military action, whether in or outside Syria. The heinous butchering of these men points to a decided attempt at punishing innocent Palestinians.”
the zionazi mercs operating in syria are no friends to palestinians. anymore than the zionazi/fascist death squads calling themselves the nicaraguan contras were friends of the miskito indians there. no terrorist groups fronting for jp and corporate fascist interests are.

This was a very clumsy move on behalf of HAMAS to take this stand against the Syrian regime – its main ally during decades- that hosted its leadership and helped it resist in Gaza by supplying it with the necessary weapons to defend itself. There are half a million Palestinian refugees living in Syria and the HAMAS leadership should have thought twice before embracing the Arab/Turkish sectarian agenda of declaring on Syria . HAMAS thus might have exposed the existence of the half a million Palestinians living there , not to forget that it has exposed what remained of its leadership since one of them called Kamal Ghannaja was assassinated lately in his home in Damascus by the same people who presumably killed the four military Syrian officers in last week blast . You cannot share in a war against a country while a significant portion of your people is being hosted by this country and has been hosted for decades .In this case each step should have been studied carefully on behalf of HAMAS before rushing to cater to Erdugan or the prince of Qatar. This reminds of how the PLO treated the Palestinian refugees after it got involved up to its neck in Lebanese local conflicts and in the civil war which caused its expulsion from Lebanon leaving the 450 thousands Palestinians living there helpless and defenseless.
such an irresponsible leadership for a razor edge path

I agree, I am sure you are aware that Lebanese are united on one thing: rejecting the resettlement of uprooted Palestinians, though they know resettlement is rejected by Palestinians. And you are aware that Palestinians are denied the basic civil/human right, such as the right to work and the right to own a home and pass it to their children.
The Lebanese solution for uprooted Palestinians is either the right of return (March 8 group) or TRANSFERE. Failing to grant Palestinians their basic civil right, Palestinians are pushed to embrace Islamists. Transfare optio is at work. I am afraid, if Usrael succeeds in changing the regime in Syria (God forbid) we are going to see many Nahr Al-Barids in both Lebanon and Syria.

The Lebanese government is like a chicken that cannot fly but can only remain on the ground . For this reason the Lebanese law seems devoid of any spirit , Lebanon is crippled regarding any action and cannot even secure electricity for the people or adopt a defense strategy that is already there.
Not all Lebanese want to oust Palestinians . Since Hariri the father, there were plans to give the Palestinians the right to settle in Lebanon and 14th of March still worked along this line after Hariri’s death and the events of Nahr el Bared were the first step where camps will be destroyed one after the other and the settlement of Palestinians imposed as the only choice left . It is known for this reason that the Fateh al Islam were on the payroll of 14th of March.
As for 8 of March(Hizbullah and allies) , they look at the Palestinian presence in Lebanon as temporary , they are guests that should go back to their homeland and use every means to return and the Lebanese and Arabs should help them and provide for them to do so . Making their presence in Lebanon legal and granting them citizenship is equal to considering Israel a legal entity . As for the right to get employed or the right to own property , these are i think , secondary rights while the right to return is primary and is the essence of the matter and should include the secondary demands . The fact that we are discussing only these secondary rights shows that the right of return is omitted.
The Palestinian leadership failed the Palestinians in every respect. It put them in a limbo situation where they find themselves with no future . Of course the Arab league that was supposed to find a solution for them was not up to the task either and the Arab nations failed them as well… But it was the Palestinians and their leadership that failed the Palestinians and were complacent with the enemy knowingly and unknowingly.
So here they find themselves exactly where they have started , they have been taken for a ride .The Palestinians should demand for the right to return and the necessary means of return from their leadership , from the Arab country they live in temporarily , and from all . They should have started united behind one resistance and one objective , not the different objectives of the different factions which exploited the cause, but the true committed Resistance endeavor that can achieve success . Had they been serious in their endeavor ,the Lebanese government would have had to listen to them and at least they could have improved their living conditions and gotten support , they could have imposed on the government to back them in their endeavor as Hizbullah imposed on the government to back the Resistance .
But their different factions and leadership just wanted to get benefits and live as if there was no Palestine waiting for them..
Of course all should have access to decent schools but on the way to Palestine not as permanent residents in Lebanon , not to forget the fact that even Lebanese have no access to such luxury and more than one third of the Lebanese are as poor as Palestinians because the politicians stole all the money as the Palestinian authority stole all the money and left the refugees bereft of anything . The Palestinians have one objective failing which and replacing which by a share in the Arab spring they are failing themselves again
