The Martyr My Son

Sayyed Hassan Nasrullah, standing besides his child’s picture, Sayyed Hadi after his martyrdom spoke thus.

“ The martyr, my son, has chosen this way by his own will and I like to say this to the enemy and to the friend : Don’t you ever think that this young man has done this because his father , the head of the Resistance, has put pressure on him and sent him to fight. Even if this thing be true, it is considered as good. This young man, like all resistance fighters, and all martyrs that sacrificed their life, or all freedom fighters that are still facing the enemy, and some of them might be in very advanced posts, close to occupied Palestine, those noble pure people have trodden this path out of their free will and with full awareness. And our merit as father and mother consists in the fact that we made it easy for them and did not object and did not obstruct the way that these young men have chosen to take them to their goal.”

Sayyed Hasan added that the Israelis might think that they have achieved a victory by killing the son of the head of the resistance. They did not kill him though  while he was walking in his neighborhood,  nor did they kill him because he had hijacked a plane in Antebi airport. This freedom fighter with his comrades was in the front lines with the enemy . He was after them and not they after him. He headed towards them on his feet with his gun and determination, and this what makes the difference. This could not be considered, in any way, a victory to the enemy.This is a victory to Hizbullah, to the glory of Hizbullah.

This victory is that of the idea of resistance in Lebanon. And we will remain forever proud of the fact that we are a path and a resistance and a Jihadist movement whose leaders have fallen martyrs and some of its great men like Martyr Sheikh Ragheb Harb, and we will remain proud, raising our heads high because, among our martyrs, there figures our leader and teacher and beloved Sayyed Abbas al Moussawi and  his  wife, and his child.

Then , Sayyed Hassan addressed the enemy saying : we are not a movement or resistance whose leaders live their private life while the children of the faithful and the followers and the true honest supporters among the common people, fight at our place . The martyrdom of Hadi shows the fact that we, in Hizbullah, we do not spare our children and save them  for the future, we are proud of our children when they go to the frontlines and we raise our heads high when they fall martyrs.

And Sayyed Hassan added : I tell this to the enemy that he has to understand the meaning of the martyrdom of Sayyed Hadi and the martyrdom of his brothers in the right way. We in Hizbullah in all the positions we take, men , women, and children, are determined to resume the path of Sayyed Abbas and Sheikh Ragheb and Imam Khomeini (God bless them) , and to keep on the way of the Jihad whatever are the challenges and the dangers and sacrifices. This is a promise and a decision that we will not back on . This is the message of the martyrdom of those honest martyrs on this evening.

I thank God the Almighty for His offerings that He favored me and favored my family, and has chosen among us a martyr, and has allowed us to belong to the holy community of the martyrs’ families who used to put me to shame when I visited them seeing the father of the martyr and his mother and his wife , and I will remain ashamed in front of all these.

I thank God for allowing me to comfort the martyrs’ families and allow my family to comfort them, not only in this instance, not only because of their martyrdom, but because of their remains being in the hands of the enemy. And I say to those whose childrens’ remains are still in the hand of the enemies , now we can share your sorrow as well. This is one of God’s great graces that has come to us and we don’t know how to be thankful. Should we be thankful for the victory in Ansariyya or for the honor of martyrdom in Jabal al Rafi’ in Iqlim Al Tufah. . For what should we be thankful ? For the grace of belief and good guidance and jihad, for the grace of existing in this place in this time that is witnessing the presence of people like you, knowledgeable, leaders, men and women, known for their commitment and carrying on the promises faithfully.
