Thank you for both ideas , very interesting film , we know the human being had a better civilization , we certainly have this feeling that this civilization falls short of our expectations. The point is maybe we don't have to go so far in time and place but we have to go deep enough right here where we are.

a video from a time when the BBC still broadcast the occasional feature of interest.

The Elder Brothers Warning
(Kogi People)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pnLX9pdKuEg&feature=related

this is still worth watching, and underlines Daniel's point.

the present post is also a suitable occasion to recall Gandhi's famous response:

REPORTER Mr. Gandhi, what is your view of Western civilization?

GANDHI I think it would be a very good idea!

The American dream is a colonialist dream, and the white settler could not unite with the Native indigenous except after decimating him . When we speak of a common dream this means the existence of the colonialist and the absence of the other: the Palestinian. Despite this illusion of possible coexistence that some peace activists like to give and work for, the Palestinian dream is to have all Palestine back and not just a part of it and Israel is not to get any portion of Palestinian land because- as the president of Iran said in his last speech : Israel- which is of a predatory nature- is a cancer and nothing else and whatever part of the land it occupies, from this part, the disease will spread to other partsas well therefore there is no cure for this ailment but eradication .

A Dream shared with me by a 1948 Palestinian Muslim refugee who made his way to the USA and into a position in The Defense Industry during The Cold War with Top Secret Clearance, became my Dream too and led to my first book, "KEEP HOPE ALIVE"

After my first of 7 trips in 2005, to BOTH sides of The Wall in Israel Palestine I also began to DREAM of running for US HOUSE of Representatives-and I am pursuing BOTH DREAMS!
