i would add the footnote a certain kind of society , but let me not nitpick. most societies are in our epoch are of a certain kind .

since Israel has been at war since its inception as a (rogue) state, yet has a 1st-world per capita GDP, it provides an interesting test-case for the IMSGT**. for given the history, according to IMSGT Israel should be a very stuck-up society, up to its neck in martially secreted adhesives. its great ally, the USA, would also be quite stuck, though perhaps with a less viscous glue, given the greater distances separating it from most of its perceived enemies, and its larger expanse and population.

since the discovery of gluons, it may be better to think of Iron Mountain Glue as the kind of strong force field which binds quarks and nucleons. this unites the idea of adhesion with that of an underlying tension, or etheric stress – this tension, almost totally lacking in the naive glue models, is a critical psychic dimension relating to stress, anxiety, and anger-levels in the popular mass, as equally to constriction of perceptual and cognitive sphincters, causing a phenomenon akin to tunnel vision in all aspects of apprehension.
