Israel as Popular as North Korea According to BBC Poll

by Gilad Atzmon

BBC POLL: Israel is one of the countries with most negative global influence.

Haaretz reported yesterday that, “Israel, Iran, Pakistan and North Korea were ranked most negatively by 24,000 people surveyed in an annual BBC poll.”

It would appear that in spite of the extensive Hasbara campaign and the Jewish lobby buying every morally lax living politician, people of the world increasingly see Israel for what it is.

The broad international survey was an initiative of the BBC World Service. Over 24,000 people from 22 countries took part in the poll, which was conducted from December 2011 to February 2012.

Haaretz confirms that the survey’s findings on global attitudes toward Israel are “worrying indeed.” Last year’s survey already confirmed that attitudes toward Israel were negative, but the situation has become more serious this year: Some 47% of participants in the 2011 survey had negative views of Israel’s influence on the world, but this year the number has gone up to 50%.

If Israel and Zionism were set initially to bring to the world a humanist civilised Jew, this poll results suggest that both Zionism and Israel failed completely. In spite of Israeli Hasbara, Jewish lobbying and the Jewish stronghold over the media, the people of the world, see the Jewish State negatively.

Some 50% percent of Americans that took part in the poll said they had a favorable view of Israel. Yet, with just half of the American people seeing Israel favourably, the blunt support of America’s political system of Israel is staggering and pretty revealing.

In Europe, Israel is losing popularity rapidly. Some 74% of Spanish respondents (an increase of 8% from last year) and 56% of French respondents (an increase of 9%), see Israel in a negative light. In spite of their guilt and the heavy pro Israeli indoctrination, 69% of German respondents see Israel negatively. And in Britain, despite the embarrassing fact that 80% of our Tory MPs are Conservative Friends of Israel, 68% of the Brits are not at all friendly towards the Jewish State.

In emerging economies, people also have some problems with Israel. According to the poll. 45% of Chinese participants, 58% of Brazilians and 29% of Indians have negative views of Israel, and the number of Israel sympathizers in these countries is markedly low.

The survey also found that in Russia, which last year stood out as a country where public opinion of Israel was positive, only 25% of Russian participants had positive views of Israel this year, compared to 26% who see Israel in a negative light. This is not very surprising bearing in mind that 7 out of 8 Russian oligarchs are Jews possessing with Israeli citizenship.

Israel may want to consider changing its path immediately. Rather than investing in Hasbara and extensive Jewish lobbying, it may want to open its eyes to the prospect of humanism and peace because it appears that humanity clearly shows some real signs of fatigue towards the ‘Jews only State’.

A very interesting set of data to mull over here. I found it notable that when compared with the data from the poll carried out in 2007 Israel’s popularity has actually risen from being at the very bottom of the league table with an astounding 56% of respondents feeling it had the greatest negative effect globally.

One might ask what Israel had done in the intervening years to rise a heady 9% to 47% in 2011, despite its horrific genocidal massacres in Gaza and the West Bank and its continuing racist, supremacist behaviour, along with its clamouring for an attack on Iran’s nuclear facilities. It is interesting to note that whilst in 2007 28,389 people from 27 countries were surveyed, this time 24,000 from 22 countries were surveyed.

Several countries were not on this years survey and one has to wonder why. The countries missing this year are: Argentina, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Lebanon, the Philippines, Poland, Portugal, Turkey and the United Arab Emirates. I think the results would have surpassed its unpopularity of 2007 had they been included.

I don’t believe much in polls, they are hardly accurate, but certainly, Israel keeps at the bottom in spite of Zionists dominating the press and the J lobby buying our MPS.

I guess, there is no much Israel can do about it, just to accept that it has bought itself a horrid name..

“I don’t believe much in polls, they are hardly accurate, but certainly, Israel keeps at the bottom in spite of Zionists dominating the press and the J lobby buying our MPS.”

the poll was probably of bbc listeners, or people who fit the demographic of a bbc listener, and likely skewed in zionist favour as a result. a real poll, of real people outside the demographic who don’t bother with a propaganda site like bbc would probably show israel much lower on the list. the fact that iran is at the bottom shows those who took the poll get their news from the zionist bs corps, not from media independent of israeli hasbara. but i agree, the results are hardly as “good” as the zionists would probably want and this shows their cheap perfume is failing to cover up the stench.

A very sound point, who me. I completely agree that this data whilst useful because it reflects how effective zioprop is in the world, is not a real reflection of what the people who don’t rely on zio news outlets for their daily info, are thinking.

How can you reach the conclusion that Israel is one of the countries with most negative global influence, when you only asked people about very few countries?
Why didn’t they ask people about Saudi Arabia or Syria or Egypt or any other Arab country?
Seems like Israel the opinion on Israel is still better than any other Muslim state they asked about.

“Seems like Israel the opinion on Israel is still better than any other Muslim state they asked about.”

Barely… more like nose to nose, but hold on tight to that. It’s a consolation.

“Why didn’t they ask people about Saudi Arabia or Syria or Egypt or any other Arab country?”

You’re right. It might have bumped Israel up a bit from 4th from the bottom to 5th or 6th.

Anyway I agree with Gilad here, these types of polls are too easy to manipulate depending on what you want to conclusion to be.
They interview 24,090 citizens across 22 countries, but how did they chose those 22 countries? Are the number of people they asked in Egypt same as the number of people as they did in America?
You can really tailor the poll depending on what you want your result to be.

“but how did they chose those 22 countries?”

Right… and why do they have to be CURRENT countries? Why not include Nazi Germany?

” Are the number of people they asked in Egypt same as the number of people as they did in America?”

Not just the number but WHAT KIND of people? If they asked some dumb fellahin in Egypt instead of business people who have dealings with Israeli companies and therefore know Israel better, the results would have been different.

“You can really tailor the poll depending on what you want your result to be.”

This poll was taken in the UK–and we now know that Britain is “the center of anti-Israel hate.” Case closed

MIght this be a tiny little reason for Israel unpopularity?

Plans to strike Iran “ready,” says U.S. Israel envoy

JERUSALEM (Reuters) – U.S. plans for a possible military strike on Iran are ready and the option is “fully available”, the U.S. ambassador to Israel said, days before Tehran resumes talks with world powers which suspect it of seeking to develop nuclear arms.

The fact that it is possible to take this kind of poll in he UK tells me education is still satisfactory there. In the US it would be hard because most high school graduates (and some college grads) don’t know so many countries by name.

Are we at all surprised. However, even 20% seems way too high. Even in America you will hear a pin drop at a dinner table when someone reveals they are from Israel. Nobody knows what to say.
