I Came, I Listened, Nobody Died but LIBERTY was Seized

[Chantilly, VA.] I also accomplished a mission when I passed the following questions directly to Congressman Ron Paul along with a copy of my third book, BEYOND NUCLEAR: Mordechai Vanunu’s FREEDOM of SPEECH Trial and My Life as a Muckraker: 2005-2010 at a private reception for Dr. Paul during the 2012 LIBERTY Political Action Conference:

Will you support the grass roots initiative that is seeking to establish every June 8th as USS LIBERTY REMEMBRANCE DAY?

In April 1999, thirty-six members of the US House of Representatives signed a letter calling for Israel’s Nuclear Whistle Blowers release from prison because they believed “we have a duty to stand up for men and women like Mordechai Vanunu who dare to articulate a brighter vision for humanity.”

Were you one of the 36?

Thank you for any reply,

The evening before at a private meeting with Senators Mike Lee [R-UT], Jim DeMint [R-SC] and Rand Paul [R-KY] and witnessed by at least thirty others, I asked the Senators if they would support establishing every June 8th as USS LIBERTY REMEMBRANCE DAY?

Senator Lee maintained silence, Senator Paul gave me what I suppose was his ‘politically correct’ advice that I should not focus on old news and Senator DeMint admitted he was stumped and couldn’t say; so I gave him a DVD copy of BLOOD IN THE WATER and you can watch it here:

I also asked the three senators if they would speak up about Israel’s WMD and for Vanunu’s RIGHT to LIBERTY from Israel.

NOT one responded.

I spoke again with Senator Rand Paul during his book signing and he apologized for being negative and I told him he wasn’t but the old news about the USS LIBERTY impacts foreign policy today and that is why it is on top of my agenda.

And I also gifted him with a copy of BEYOND NUCLEAR: Mordechai Vanunu’s FREEDOM of SPEECH Trial and My Life as a Muckraker: 2005-2010

I also learned I am a Libertarian

Something else I learned in grass roots training at the LIBERTY Conference was to make an impact on politicians it is necessary to “inflict pain” on them.

I did not see the CNN interview, but I was informed by reporter, James Morris who did see it, that “Rand Paul on CNN yesterday said that aid should be cut off to Egypt and Libya but not to US ‘ally’ who has always been there for us! Made me sick to hear him say such! He obviously likes being in the Senate and is saying that about Israel so as to not allienate all this Christian evangelical voters in Kentucky! You might want to tweet Rand Paul at @SenRandPaul!”

      I did!

I also reminded Paul that he had PREVIOUSLY called for an end of aid to Israel!

In an interview with CNN’s Wolf Blitzer on 26 January 2011, Paul said that “Reuters did a poll, and 71 percent of American people agree with me that when we’re short of money, where we can’t do the things we need to do in our country, we certainly shouldn’t be shipping the money overseas.”

Blitzer inquired if Paul wanted to halt the over $3 billion that go to Israel annually, and Paul replied affirmatively adding that Egypt also receives almost the same amount.
