You may be right, but if the public and opposition say nothing, what’s the incentive to act? If nothing else the public should be energized to demand that the NDP get off its ass and stop pretending to be an opposition.

What’s the alternative?

I may also boycott the next “election”.

DJ was appointed to be GG by Harper, as a reward for job good done with Mulroney enquiry, so we have to wait for hell to freeze over, and only then GG might do something to upset his dear leader. And, I am not participating ever again in a sorry excuse for democracy called first by the post electoral system, I will let those who like horse, dog, car … races to continue betting …

That’s all very interesting, but I doubt very much that the Pythons were commenting on Canadian democracy. It was just a spoof, which was originally meant to get them out of a barbershop sketch for which they had no ending.

The brilliance of the Pythons was the realization that a well-written sketch could meld into another rather than end with a bad punch line. Check out the entire episode.

a couple of years ago i followed a you-tube URL supplied by a friend and saw an ugly bunch of stuffed dummies speaking pidgin French with appalling accents. at first i thought it must be one of those (few) Monty Python sketches that don’t quite work. but no! it was Canadian politicians in a futile attempt to get into the knickers of the francophone vote.
