Vijay is wrong. United States never lost its influence in the Middle East with the exception of Iran after 1979 Islamic Revolution. It's Russia which is trying to "re-enter" the region which it lost after the Cold War.

NAM would probably delay US-NATO-Israel attack on Syria - but it cannot stop the regime change in Damascus, which has nothing to due with "western humanitarianism" - but all to do with countering Iran's growing influence in the region.

It seems that US is hesitant towards a "military solution" in syria, atleast for the time being. On Thursday Chairman of Joint Chiefs of Staff, Gen. Martin Dempsey speaking to journalist in London rejected French-Turkish call for enforcing a ’no-fly-zone’ inside Syria by NATO. He warned the implications of establishing a no-fly-zone inside Syria, saying: “Syria is not Libya“.

South America is as Latin as it gets.
For saying what?
Read up on the "boys of Chicago" for starters, even if only what wikipedia says-- The President of Chile, Pinera, is one of them.
His brother was the one who, as a minister in the first government after the CIA-assisted coup that helped Chile find its way to "democracy," privatized all the mines and "deregulated" the industry, making it easier for the owners to get rid of all the cumbersome safety expenses. When that mine collapsed a couple of years ago you probably saw Pinera on TV shedding crocodile tears and feeling the pain of the trapped miners. No safety measures have been taken since!
Another example is Peru--the president is a devout zionist: Moises Humela, who never had or is likely to have a disagreement with Washington (or Tel Aviv).

Latin America Ariadna, not South America, though what you said was interesting. They have Columbia but even that can be turned around if & when that stooge is ousted. Not so sure about the other 3 though. What's your reasons for saying so?

Let's not rejoice prematurely. They still have Columbia, Chile, Peru and have just grabbed Paraguay back.
